Zara International
Zara International shows many elements of classical management approaches. First, Zara International employs 200 creative professionals to help keep up with the latest fashion. Second, setting their location such as New York’s Fifth Avenue and many other major cities. Third, twice a week Zara’s finished garments are shipped to logistical centers and they simultaneously distribute products to stores worldwide which means that they have strong distribution Channels.. Fredrick Taylor's scientific management is evident in the aspect of Zara’s quick turnaround of runways to stores. Fredrick Taylor emphasized about work efficiency. In my opinion, Zara International also emphasizes in work efficiency because everything is fast with efficiency. Zara International uses operational management through Inditex (Industria de Diseno Textil). Inditex can have garments in American stores by 24hours and European stores by 48hours. System, concepts, and the notion of contingency thinking explain the success of Zara International. Zara uses tried-and-true strategy for entering new markets through Inditex to cut the unnecessary expense that with this method they can always adapt to the market. Also as I mentioned above, they are so efficient with communicating throughout the systems with their technology. Their concepts of bringing higher fashion to lower income shoppers are fantastic. According to New York Times, Zara is still doing very well. The article is about the fashion of Zara’s product and how fast their trend changes. Inditex is still providing Zara worthy management since Zara is the first Inditex’s chain to break ground in new countries. In my opinion, even though Zara international is doing well, they should put little more effort on their advertisements. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/29/fashion/at-zara-in-midtown-its-all-a-tribute.html

The locations of Zara in NYC are just over and beyond what people would expect. It has 2 stores on 5th ave, 10 blocks apart from each other, one in 34t st, soho, union square, etc. So you see it's locations are always in the best place in NYC. The fact that you said "Their concepts of bringing higher fashion to lower income shoppers are fantastic. " is so true because during sale time in Zara, you can find pants for as cheap as $7, and sweaters for less than $20. So Zara does target every customer type, whether from rich or poor.
